Holy Fricking God With Bells On

That is all there is to say on the matter.

Walk the Line is a stunning film. Absolutely beautiful. The jumps in time were managed perfectly, and every shot was beautifully put together. The best part however was the sheer romance. It was never cheap or obvious like most Hollywood romance, but subtle and sincere. We all knew how it was going to end, but that didn't stop half the cinema from protesting when she turned him down on the bus. It was believable and natural. It felt like they really had known each other for years. Joaquin Phoenix was amazing, as always, really making Cash's talent for saying whatever felt natural real. He struck a balance between being funny and heartfelt that made it extra special. He really made Cash a mortal, with vices and problems just like everyone else, rather than making him a hero. Reese Witherspoon was a suprise. I've really only seen her in fluffy roles, so this was an unexpected performance. I loved that fact that her comedy and funny moments were tempered by serious scenes - for example, where she explains that she isn't the one with the voice in her family, that was incredibly heartfelt and natural, and when she was criticised by a Christian woman for getting divorced. Her face was a treat. And of them played parents very well. My only doubt was a feeling that Vivian Cash was portrayed as pretty near psycho. It seemed a little over the top, but it worked well within the context of the movie.

Now I really, really want to do it again.

And I stole an Elizabethtown poster from the toilet cubicle. They have frames nailed to the back, but they're just clip frames. So I unclipped it and took it out. I had to put it up my top to get it out, which was a bit strange.

Still, they can't have CCTV actually in a toilet cubicle.

9 days until I can see Walk the Line again.

Probably several hundred until it comes out on DVD.
